So I’m sitting at home bored like everyone else and I’m seeing all these posts and videos saying macro is something fun to do around the house. Sure, I’ll play.
but i dont have a macro lens... I tried my extension tubes on my 105 2.5, and Tamron 70-200, but they either weren’t 1:1, or the working distance was right in front of the lens. So I got creative.... the Nikkor AI-s 840mm F8 micro (ish) For when you need 1:1 from across the room. it’s a 300 2.8 AI-s with 1.4 AND 2x tc. And two sets of extension tubes.

And here’s a souvenir coin from about 8 feet away. You can see the ridges in the finger on the left.

It's an interesting exercise but the result is horrific.
