been a long time since playing with my 85 1.4 so i mounted it on the d200 and took it out fora ride last night...a father and child from the local park:biggrin:

btw, i DON'T shoot anyone less there's some kind of a connection. fact, i won't even consider shooting a kid without parents consent and an email addy to send it to em. just a waste of time and h/d space otherwise:wink:

Love that lens. Canon did not have an equivalent. No 1.4 and couldn't afford the 1.2. I would love that lens. But I had to forego it to get the versatility of a zoom for youth sports. Sigh. Maybe next year, or maybe I'll settle for a 1.8 again.

Save your money; I've got the same lens and it doesn't take pictures that look anywhere near as good at Nute's. Mark must have sold his soul to be able to make images like he does.
  12. Don't believe em, practice and thou shalt receive. This lens is like a surgical laser beam but once ya got a steady hand, WOWZA!
  13. Geez...I really want this lens!! I better start saving my pennies now!
    Awesome photos!
  14. Nice Nute. Love the shallow DOF, standout eyes, and the girls' blush cheeks.

Know what you mean about shooting around town. Went to my kid's Track and Field yesterday to shoot some straight lines that are painted on to the track .....testing focus. Nobody was around but little ole me...I was chased away by security.

I am really, really getting tired of these 85 1.4 threads! This is like throwing a steak in front of a pack of wild dogs and telling them not to eat it!

From now on, can we limit these threads to lenses < $300? Come on people gotta eat!!!
  19. Can't wait to see what Nute does with that lens on a D700 lol.
  20. Awesome. I got my 85 1.4 on Monday and haven't had the chance to play yet.
I'm hoping this weekend to give it a good workout. I'm sure it will show me how much work I have to learn how to use it properly.
