I bought both 1.4x and 2.0x Kenko telextenders a while back to use with my 80-200 for sports shooting. I had the 85 1.8 on my camera today after finishing some late baseball shooting last night, and on a whim I put the 2x on with the lens and shot my standard test shot (of antennas on a mountaintop). Compared them to the same shots done by my 80-200, and was amazed at how close they are. The Kenkos work amazingly well with this lense as well as the 80-200. Now, if I wish, I can have an 85mm 1.8, an 170mm 3.5 (the 85/2.0x combo), a 200mm 2.8, a 280mm 4.0 (200mm /1.4x), and a 400 5.6 (200/2.0x) for daytime sports shooting, with two at a time available. A really pleasant surprise that (duh) hadn't occured to me before. Anybody else shoot with these combos?
