85mm f 1.4

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by Removed User 3, May 8, 2007.

  1. Just reading about possible changes to Nikon line-up...?

Anyone know how long this lens has been in production ?

Does it need AF-S and VR ?
  2. The MF version was introduced in 1980, followed by the AF version in 1995.
  3. Thanks Frits,

Did not think it was on the go for that long.

from that time interval, shall we expect an AF-S VR 85/1.4 in, say, 2010?
  5. I am lusting after one at present. And when I see some of the great shots posted here with it ...it only makes it more difficult

May 11th may have some answers for us...

  7. I sure hope so. Not convinced that this lens needs VR but if it was thrown in for same price ...who knows ?

If its updated, you can count on ED glass, and AF-S. VR is likely though...

Thanks for the reply. Will wait anxiously to see if they kill the value of my recent purchases.

Oh goody! Perhaps we'll get 11 new Coolpix cams, a D40XHs and the much anticipated AF-S 10-400mm f/7.1-16 G VRIII we've all been waiting for!!

[IMG] OUCH!! Ok, I know I deserved that...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm not holding my breath for any announcement worth a darn...

  12. Good one Ray,

I would have to agree with you. All I want is my Cream Machine.
