  2. With the firemans helmet there I'm assuming those are the names of firemen in the book ?

  3. Because this is a county park, the names in the book are of the people who lived in Essex County, NJ and lost their lives in the attacks. Some of whom may have been firemen or policemen.

Off to both sides of the sculptures on top of the wall are the approximately 3000 names and hometowns of those who perished in the September 11th attacks.

The fireman's helmet memorializes 343 New York City Firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.

The policeman's hat is in memory of the 23 New York City Police Officers, 37 Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Officers and Emergency Medical Services Personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty on 9/11.
