Just happened to catch this Grackle with the nictating membrane covering his eye. I thought it was kind of interesting. These birds may not be sought after for photographs but I am finding that they are really growing on me. Lots of colors when lit by the sun and one of the prettiest sets of eyes in the bird world.

Another common species that has a lot of personality.

Hey Andy. Another excellent set. One of the most common species at my feeders is the Grackle, and I saw a ton of them today, as well as my share of nictating membranes. I'm about to go throught my shots from this afternoon's session. Hopefully, I'll have something to post too.
