First of all - what a fun lens! It feels solid and nice to hold with a camera like the D300, and I had no problem hand holding it at the Ashboro, NC Zoo.

Here's a few shots, in jpeg and tiny amount of processing.

Great shots Linda! What were your focal lengths for those pictures?

  6. Linda, these are wonderful shots.
I recently purchased the lens myself and it's fast becoming one of my favorite

Thanks everyone, this is going to be such a fun "sightseeing" lens.

Yes, the humping turtles were...ironically, in the kids section. I just explained to my son that they were making new turtles. Not like a 3 year old really cares...

  10. Nice Stuff Linda. Good to see you're already making good use of this lens. It's quite a performer considering the price.

Can't wait to see more from you.
  11. Nice shots. I rarely use mine, but when I do, it's stellar.

Thank you! Robert, I can't wait to try it out on the wild horses that's around here. There's so much to see here, our heads are spinning. Not sure where to begin. So we started with what was furthers away. LOL (well hubby also had a science meeting in the Triad area).

Jose, you'd love it....I see you have the 55-200vr. This is such a different lens!
  14. Nice shots Linda. I really like the colours and detail in the first image.
