A D2X for $3800 sure is tempting....

I'd love to take out a nice little $5,000 loan and buy myself some equipment. I should ask the parents or something, this "deal" is awesome. In reality I think it's just the price finally falling but I absolutely would love to have the D2x

Two D200s is probably an even better deal.

I wouldn't borrow money to buy digital bodies unless you can pay it off quickly. The camera will probably depreciate faster than you can reduce the debt.

If enough people don't buy the D2X at $3800, Nikon will drop the price even more. I've found you can't lose by waiting to buy digital gear, but you can really gain by waiting.
