A day out with nature (image heavy)

We're currently in Autumn downunder, and the weather the past week has been superb. Cool nights and lovely sunny windless days.

Due to the Autumn colours, the popular spots are usually overrun on the weekends with people out enjoying the weather and the sights.

I decided to head up into the Dandenong Ranges (a popular tourist spot) on Friday to stay away from the weekend crowds. Although it was still busy, where I went was basically deserted. Over the years I have photographed many of the well known, and some not so well known Autumn hotspots, so yesterday wasn't about colour but other gems nature has to offer.

Leaving home early to get there just after sunrise, the day ended up going well into the evening. Luckily the ghost fungi were just down the road from home.

#14 The moon is still very bright which makes taking these a little difficult.

Superb photos as usual, Richard. What lenses and cameras used?

Autumn in Sydney (and probably Melbourne) is the best time of year, the weather is *perfect*, not too hot, not too cold - Goldilocks weather. 😊

Beautiful set! What lens(es) were you using?

Thank you Lance & Phil. Autumn and Spring are my favourite seasons.

The daytime fungi shots are with an Olympus EM-1 MK III with 60mm macro lens.

The birds and Kangaroo are with a Nikon D500 with 500mm pf lens.

The night shots of the ghost fungi are with a Nikon Z6 with 24-70 f/4 lens.
