I am participating in the Octoberfest, and this morning was converting a few images to Black and White/Duotone, and thought I would post a few examples, first the way I convert an image, and second, processed to honor Chris101 and his film work and his love of unusual subjects and colors. I was reflecting on him this morning, since I used to talk with him occasionally on the phone, and I miss our conversations.

I included an iPad grab of the subject to show the distance involved on the building seal.

midday high noon harsh light, for Chris…. Film grain added, noise added, texture added in post, etc.

#1 is stunning! So sharp and the conversion to B&W is excellent!!!!! LOVE the composition! The diagonal is PERFECT!

#2 is excellent also! It is sooooooo nice to have you shooting again! I can sense the texture in the stone! And the strong shadows make the engraving POP off the page. Another excellent conversion!
