A Few from Arizona

Discussion in 'Wanderlust and Travel' started by Gunnerisac, Jun 5, 2007.

  1. Haven't posted for a while so I thought I'd give you a bit of a travelogue of some truly outstanding hotel/inn in Arizona.

We spent a week just visiting some old haunts (favorite hotels) in Tucson and Sedona and found a superb, new one in Phoenix/Scottsdale -- The Royal Palms.

Here are few from each hotel/inn:

    The grounds of LaPaloma, Tucson:

    One of LaPaloma's pools:

    A view from the lobby:

    Some desert flowers:

A one day trip to Sonoma to see some friends and to stay at our favorite place, L"Auberge. It is in the middle of Sedona on Oak Creek Canyon.

L'Auberge has rooms and log cabins by Oak Creek.

The cabins are not very rustic!! Here's a picture of the smaller one we had:

Of course the red mountains are a beautiful backdrop to the hotels beautiful trees:

We found a new place in Phoenix/Scottsdale right below Camelback Mountain -- The Royal Palms. What a place!. Originally a private residence of the roaring '20s it was converted into an inn and the had a $26 million renovation/expansion about five years ago. Truly a great find!

The hotel has impressive spanish architecture and beautiful grounds:

The place is gorgeous --here's the walk to our room:

The pool is especially appealing in Arizona in May.

Looks like a great vacation. I live in Phoenix and have stayed at the Royal Palms when I wanted a vacation without leaving town!

  3. I can see why! We like the Hermosa too, but the Royal Palm is special.

    Very nice images

  5. Thanks, Gale.

It's hard not to get good shots in such beautiful places.

Everyone is spectacular. I couldn't choose my favorite if I had to!

  7. You're right -- that's why we did them all/. Next time though, we'll spend two weeks.
