Number 3 is the most appealing to me , maybe becasue it is framed a bit better . Some of the others seem to be too 'wide' .

I agree. I really learned a lot at this wedding! I use nothing wider than a 50mm for people. I just think some better grouping of people might tighten them up.

They do look a little better full sized, but they are a little dark. Two reasons for this.

1. SB 600 with a GF Cloud drops off pretty fast! (lesson learned)
2. This place was HUGE!! With maybe a 20 foot ceiling. No windows! I need to get an SB800 and use both of my flashes when I can.

On this one, +0.67 Exposure - 0.0 Recovery - 0.0 Fill Light - 0.0 Blacks - touch of Vignetting. Shot in RAW ISO 320, 1/60th, 50mm f2.2

Most of them were just a little Exposure comp, Fill Light, and Blacks adjustment.

sharpening is something that EVERY SINGLE PICTURE made by a digital SLR needs
every single one

Greg: You are right! I posted the glass shot larger for you and noticed right away that it looked soft. Your sharpening looks great! I will have to start doing that to my web images for sure.

They didn't hire a gun! They were going to just use disposables on the tables!!!! Since they are good friends, and I didn't get them a wedding gift, I decided to practice.

You did a good job with these photos.
I really like #4 where the happy feelings of the day really shows.
I would like #9 to have a bit less DOF to isolate the guy in the front a bit more, or perhaps all of them in focus, but that would be harder to achieve now!

Greg - I don't want to highjack the thread but can I ask what kind of sharpening you use? USM? Do you have settings that you use for most pictures? It's great to learn this stuff!
