    Hello,
On vacation for just a few more days so I am spending as much time outdoors as possible.
here are a few from the past few days. It has been very hot around so shooting is usually best early morning.
    Anyways, here are some samples:

American White Pelican (the yawn) ....

Another bird but this time just a half yawn ....

To view more (what I would consider my best Pelican shots of this summer so far) please see the following link:

    House Wren .....
I am having so much fun with these guys this year.

Cormorant (river fishing) ...... and these beautiful eyes.
I spent a few hours watching them fishing yesterday but could never capture them with their catch out of the water. Everytime they re-surfaced, they had already swallowed their prey ..... and I did spend about 4 hours on the river's edge waiting for such opportunity.

    And last,
    A juvenile Wood duck ....

    Hello Mike,
Pelican do "yawn" from time to time.
There are 2 ways of seeing this behavior if you can get close to these birds:
    1) luck
    2) spent time watching them as they will eventually do it.

    Hello Tim,
    Thank you for your kindness.

    Hi Ray,
    Thank you for your comment.
These were taken in and around Calgary ......

    Best regards All
