    Thank you Ben,
    Great group it is :>))

Egret..ok Egret egret.. That should help me remember :>)))))

That is basically right out of the camera. Enhanced a bit, cropped and no other sharpening other than normal in camera.

Of this family of whistlers there is only one young left.
I saw 4 from the other family. They are older than the one above and pretty much on thier own. They stay together. Did not see thier parents with them or anywhere around them..

While I was there a gator scatched a Coot. Then all the birds around stood very still and tall. I missed the gator snatch. It was a second and you heard a splash.

Thank you for the kind comments.
  4. It was nice getting to see the Whistlers back at "the pond". They must've been really tired to pose for us for so long! Great shots!

Very nice shots Gale pal.

I believe that the ducks in the second image are female mallards. I like all of them, but my personal favorite is the BBWD shot. I don't have any of those yet.

What green stuff Keith. Behind the Redish Heron ??
Just the vegetation.....Wind was blowing quite a bit Saturday.
That was a pretty Redish Heron. Suprised to see several out there.

    Thanks Pal
  12. i think he meant "opposed to white stuff" (snow in case you still did not get it) :^)
would have been cool to catch the alligator grab, but nearly impossible ill bet.
    Love the egret egret.

Hey Gale, those are some nice shots. The second group may be Greyducks (aka Gadwalls) They look alot like mallard Susies but I don't see a blue patch on the wing that the mallards have.
  14. Really nice captures, Gale. I like the duck poses in the first (one half up, one down and one full up looking in crossing directions) and the second (in an arrow-head like formation).
  15. Dave got it, we just have white now. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! just jealous

    Thank you very much.

They are positioned very nice. Thanks for the pointers on that. I just worry about getting the whole duck and in focus etc. :>)))
Will watch that type of positioning in the future.
    Thanks for that.
You have such a keen eye :>).
So many things to think of and remember. Geeee forgot to press the shutter.. Where did they go ...lol
Getting slow in my old age :<((((

Sure wish you were down here.
I bet Chris would love to have you work there :>)))

    Miss you...

    Hi Gale -

Nice shots! You love those Whistlers, don't you. I don't like to think about the little guys that didn't make it.:frown: How did Ben identify the egret as a Reddish Egret? I see White Morths in my Sibley, but not any with the right colors in the right places. I think I'll PM him and ask him to tell both of us.

    See ya in February!

    thanks Gordon,

Yeah, the BBWD have become a favorite, because I see the families struggle so much the past two seasons. Probably also because there are so few of them, easy to see who is there and who is not ...

I have no clue what is what anymore. Males, females, adults, juvis...lolol
    Old and confused.
    I think adult reddish Heron.
