A few from today....

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by manzico, Nov 13, 2005.

  1. I had a little time today and decided to hit the botanical gardens. Here are a couple of the first shots to be processed:

    NIKON D100    ---    145mm    f/18.0    1/3s

    NIKON D100    ---    300mm    f/5.6    1/60s

    NIKON D100    ---    300mm    f/5.6    1/250s

    Any and all comments welcome.

  2. Very nice macro, Dave. And I would like to see #1 in color.

Three very nice images, Dave. I also would like to see the first image in color but I do like the textures in the image as is. The second image is nice, the strand of spider web (?) is a bit distracting and can be cloned out easily enough, but the flower with it's detail is quite nice. The third image is also quite nice and is another that I would like to see in color. I especially like how it orients through the frame on an angle. Looks as though you had a great day at the gardens. Thanks for sharing.
  4. as requested...

Here's the first shot in color:

    NIKON D100    ---    145mm    f/18.0    1/3s

Whenever I post shots of that particular cactus, people always request a color version so I made sure to process it both ways. The ocotillo shot however, I don't have in color. I'll process some more shots today and maybe I'll include it in color, but really, there's not much color there to start with. It's fall/winter here (so it's only in the 70's and 80's) and all of the ocotillo look dead right now.

  5. here are some more...

A couple more that I just processed...

    NIKON D100    ---    300mm    f/5.6    1/45s

    NIKON D100    ---    90mm    f/5.6    1/125s

    NIKON D100    ---    190mm    f/5.6    1/15s

  6. All very nice David, but this one is exceptional:

    NIKON D100    ---    300mm    f/5.6    1/60s
