  1. of Kodak 800.

I know my kid's head is growing out of Oreo, but I still liked the shot.

    Another of my kid.

I cheated and used a flash with this one.

These pictures remind me why I like film more than digital. There is a subtle quality about the colours that I never see with digital.

I compare digital to the look you see on a tv soap opera... hyper real but yet oddly unreal.

  3. Thanks Chris. I like the Kodak better than the Fuji.

It's not the colors that I like better with film, it's the grain. And I really like the grain from this film. I can't replicate it with my D70.
  4. And Greg don't forget that especially with color neg film you're getting a much better dynamic range than with digital. Just look at the nice, creamy, detailed whites on the cat pics!
  5. I hadn't even thought of the dynamic range. You are correct. Thanks.
  6. If you like grain Greg you should give Fuji Neopan 1600 a try. You just might like it. Nice shots by the way
  7. Thanks Mike. The Neopan looks interesting, but if it ain't C41 process, I can't use it.

    Where's the Oreo?

I'll agree that the grain appearance of these is nice. It's right on the limit of noticability. Have you tried having it pushed, or just underexposing to increase the grain? But it looks good where it is as well.
