A few shore birds from yesterday

I got to the beach at 5:30 yesterday morning but did not take a single shot till almost 7:00. There were few birds around early and they were very skittish. I could not gt close enough to shoot - they would fly away.
Finally, they started eating and bathing.

Last month I shot piping plover chicks. However, I had not seen any in almost a month. I thought all had been wiped out by the storms and high water we have had. I did see a few juveniles yesterday, however. Glad there was some breeding success.

On the way out I saw a short-billed dowitcher.

Beautiful Allan, love them all. Nice and sharp! What lens and camera did you use? You removed all your EXIF data.

I used a D300 with a 600 VR lens. The first and last had a 1.7 tc; the others had a 1.4 tc.

You just think the beach is hot there because you aren't here.

We've been getting GORGEOUS clouds here with the rains. Can't buy a cloud in February in Tampa, eh?
