A few words about the autofocus capabilities of the D6

First of all ...I love it!!
In addition to a usual Group focus mode that works really well for me when shooting birds in flight there are two additional group autofocus area modes.
Group - area autofocus (C1) and group-area autofocus (C2) Both of these modes are customizable so you can create focus point groups using the multiselector.
Here's an example where I used C1group with the focus points in a straight line.

And if you wish to use total Autofocus area mode it really impresses on how it locks on a subject. For example. here's an image I took using the continuous autofocus mode

Now I didn't give it much attention until I zoomed in...here's the crop.

I'm pleased with the results. The eyes could have been sharper, but I think for such a large crop and autofocus on the total scene it did a pretty good job.
