We had such a good time on Saturday, that Gary, Andy, and I went back for more on Sunday. I think that we are all glad that we did. Two of the three young Kestrels left the nest and joined their parents in the real world. Andy and I waited until we were almost broiled for the third one, but it was just to afraid to come out. Hopefully it will soon as the parents have stopped feeding it.

Here are some of the shots that I got of the two that did come out. All taken with the D2Hs / 400 2.8 + 1.7 TC. Note that these were all from over 150 ft, and shot at f/5.

Thanks Dave. This is in the swampy area across the parking lot from the river on the south side of the dam (as you recall, the Eagle's nest is on the north side).

I'm glad you decided to go back on Sunday also! These are great captures.

  15. Your Envy and Jealousy ....

Your Envy and Jealousy regarding my Eagle shots is quite matched by my Envy and Jealousy of this pair of Kestrels. You dirty dog you, trying to "one-up" this old man? You sure are doing a darned, or is it dam(d), good job of it :biggrin::biggrin::tongue:

I like 'em, a whole bunch

One of the better weekends I've had in a long time.

Thanks Jim. I wish we could have gotten closer, but there is a snake infested swamp between us and the nest, so we took what we could get.

Thanks Dianne. You've had some pretty good ones of your own here lately if I recall.

    Thanks Connie.

Thanks Louie. I didn't expect quite the show that we got, but I ain't going to complain.

Thanks Jim. I'll have to admit, they gave us plenty of opportunities.

Thanks Gloria. I almost didn't go. Glad that I did though.

OK, on this one, I'll call us even. Nice to see you back Bill.

Me too Andy. I came back more relaxed than I've been in a long time. Thanks.

Well, he's about my age, so I'd say yeah.

    Thanks Lou.
