Hi Y'all,

My good friends Mike McAtee & Gale came over in the morning and we started shooting at the Viera Wetlands at 7 AM

The above two shots were with my ole D100 which is serving as my back-up camera while my D2X is in for servicing.

we shot through the afternoon and the went to this burger joint on the river that serves some tasty 8 ounce burgers :443: with home-made potato chips and we met up with Gale, Robin and Nancy (Flygirl1) from the Nikon Cafe. I had a few Coronas to go with the food.

A little past 7:30 PM I got some shots of a different type of bird

Fortunately the launch occurred right after I finsihed my burger or I might have been faced with a real tough choice.

WOW, You the man!! Great spoonies in the am and big bird in the pm! Did you shoot big bird from the burger joint? And if so just where is it? I have been down time after time to see one lift off for the past 25 years and not once have I seen one. I would plan a day or a week off, drive down and nothing! The space program should pay me to stay home so that they can shoot on time!

Yep I shoot it from the burger joint. Its called New York, New York. I don't remember the name of the street that's its on but its off of A1A. Its in the beginning of Titusville, coming from the South you make a right turn right before the Clarrion Inn (formerly the Holiday Inn). Its a good ways off from the launch pad but you have an excellent view of the launch from there. I had tried to shoot a shuttle launch on 3 prior occasions but the launch had been cancelled each time before.
