My gal and I had occasion to be in Yountville in the Napa Valley wine country recently. As it was our anniversary, we stayed in a charming inn made up of restored antique rail cars, and celebrated the occasion at a favorite restaurant. (Bouchon) We were awakened by some commotion in a nearby parking lot the next morning. Grabbing the D300 fitted with the trusty 17-55, ran outside, still half asleep, and sans coffee (OMG) to this scene:

I`m going to be taking some pics later this month of our hot air balloon festival here in Gatineau.

I love love Napa. Beautiful shots.

The last weekend in August there is a Balloon festival in the Central Valley here in CA. My parents home is about 3 min away... taking the camera and the kids. Hoping for some GREAT personal and photo shots.

Thanks. I agree the Napa Valley is nice, though a bit of a tourist trap the last 10 yrs or so. Great restaurants, some of the best! Thanks Greg, it was time for a new avatar.

Fond memories of Bouchon's and the balloons. I took the balloon ride from the north end to the south end. Very nice.
