Nice shot. This breaks a lot of the "rules."
Head angle is looking away. Doesn't usually work, but works here.
Lighter background often directs the eye away from the subject, but actually highlights the subject here.
Rules sometimes help us learn.
You are beyond that point, and don't need no rules.
Well done.

I was expecting to see a macro of a penny. This is even better. No surprise about that considering that it's one of your best photos.
Thank you so much, Mike! Now I'll be thinking about a penny macro!
Sure is lost in thought! Nice catch.
Thank you Nick!

You are too kind, Gary! I wish I had a good lesson on the rules!

I've really followed your growth as a photographer since joining the cafe Dossy. Your images over the last year or so have really caught my interest in that you "see" a story in the most simple of images, but part of your gift is in the words of your captions of those images. I wish I could "see" that well.

Beautiful catch, Dossy! Agree about the pensive look and I like the DOF in this, smooth bokeh.
Thank you so much, Bill!

Much appreciated, Nick! Some days are luckier than others for me. This Cafe is the best teacher and source of inspiration!
