A Stallion, and a Mare and her Foal

Discussion in 'Other Animals' started by davidwcramer, May 21, 2007.

  1. This wild horse stallion keeps losing his mares. Here he is on the look to see if he can steal one. Right now his pack includes only one mare and her foal. Nonetheless, he's a fine looking horse.

This mare and her foal belong to another pack (the Black Stallion's group). I enjoyed watching the foal try to engage mom in some play.

  2. Interesting, I wonder why he is loosing them.. Nevertheless a fine series!
  3. I really like the second image.. The foal is a cute little fellow.

The stallion does look a bit upset! And the mare with her foal is priceless.

The hair. It's always the hair.

(I think I've been in SoCal too long.)

Keep the horses coming, David! Love these.
  6. Oooh, that poor stallion! He could use a good grooming! He's very handsome too! The Mare and her foal ----- awwwwww! What a precious photo! Please do keep the photos coming! we love your horses!
  7. David these images are great. Love your horse pictures and the stories that go with them.
  8. Wonderful pair of images, David.
  9. Hey David -

Beautiful and evocative images as usual.

Please bring a massive hard drive filled with your shots out to Los Alamos!

P.S. - As Nancy says, it *could* be his hair - he's got a sort of Little Richard thing going there - LOL.

  10. Dave, another great set. The mare with her foal is an excellent capture.

  11. Love that second shot........priceless moment in time!
  12. Thanks everyone. Well, last night the brown stallion had picked up a white mare and her one-year old foal from the black stallion. Who knows how long he'll "keep" them. There is generally a pecking order among the stallions - the older, stronger, wiser ones do better. This fellow is picking up some new tricks, and may soon be an equal for some of the older ones.
