Darren those are great! Good looking shots in tough harsh sunlight, and don't worry, they're young and bounce back quickly. We on the other hand... :wink:

Good lifting the shadows routine you got there, and clues for the more clueless of us?

well, these two are actually aussie citizens :-(

re the exposure, I shot manually and exposed for about 1/3 under the faces and in LR added a little fill, contrast and blacks (in bulk) to avoid the washout backlit look. It was pretty strong high sidelighting which is a P in the A and to be avoided.

Nice, I usually end up with something like this, this is back-lighting obviously, and I'm never sure what to do to improve it: (I presume it's not against any rules to post this in your thread)

Of course I usually have the problem of darker faces too.
