On Tuesday I took a walk in Old Town Alexandria with my dog and my camera. This is an area with mostly old picturesque 18th and 19th century houses, and now quite expensive real estate. I thought I would post some photos for those who don't live in the area. These are all Z6 and the Z 24-70 f/4 S.

I started from Gibbon Street and the Windmill Hill Park. The Woodrow Wilson Bridge across the Potomac between Virginia and Maryland is in the background.

Corner of Lee and Duke. A close friend owns the second house from the corner, but he and his wife live mostly on a farm near Charlottesville VA.

The Athenaeum, a Federalist building in strict Doric style that now serves as an art gallery, at Duke and Prince. I was fortunate to get a shot for the first time ever without a car parked in front, but as soon as I took it, a car moved right in.

King Street between Lee and Union. I just posted this in the Collective Shoot thread, but I'm posting it again for the sake of completeness.

Thank you, Nick. The historic part of Alexandria is quite charming. Other parts of the city are becoming built up with high rises; still other parts are run down or industrial or monotonously residential. The city is inside the Beltway, of which the Wilson Bridge in the first photo is part.

Oldtown/historic Alexandria is a fascinating and definitely photogenic place! It's fun to see these images -- I haven't been down there in a long time and this is delightful! You've captured beyond the usual views, too, making this series all the more interesting even for those of us who live within reasonable driving distance!
