Abandoned village Wollseifen in Germany

May 16, 2007
Hi all.

In 1946, the british military decided to use a part of the Eifel landscape as a military training ground. The village of Wollseifen has to be abandoned within three weeks. Later, the belgian army erected some buildings for urban warfare training.

The area is accessible since a few years now, but there are still warnings everywhere to stay on the tracks, given the danger of unexploded ordonance.

May be you like my shots of this pretty unusual location ...
