About 60 carats!

    I've tried, but I can't see how this shot was made. What is the crystal sitting on?

    Thanks Frank!!! I was wanting it to seem like it was sitting on an edge, but really it's a piece of glass over a light table:

    You certainly achieved your objective. It looks like it is floating in space, or at least a clear liquid.... :?

    Great composition/exposure/use of B&W. Posting the "explanation" picture goes a long way to helping us neophytes in understanding how to use available tools to achieve a purpose. Gets the creative juices flowing, as well...
     
  6. Hi Chris, I like the full blown image as it shows the color in the crystal. Both images are well done and interesting.
