Active D Lighting Mode?

Is there any lag time or slowdown on the D300 when taking pictures with Active D Lighting mode enabled?

Can you still take multiple rapid fire shots, or is there a noticable wait time while the camera processes the image with Active D?

the buffer works slower, and FPS may be lower, I don't remember the details, but things do slow down some, I have shot it in mulitple FPS with pretty good results, but generally save it for static harsh light/shadow shots.
