so, on a whim, i bought some film at the dollar store. i secretly hoped something would be wrong with it. that it would be expired, fogged, the colors shifted and funky. no such luck. also...its the grainiest 200 speed film ever...good heavens. i'm actually rather pleased with the results (less pleased with my manual focusing ). scanned at costco, and literally untouched except for the black stroke and resizing. the warning flag is in case anyone has a phobia of needles. first two shots are entitled "the enemy 1" and "the enemy 2" next are some shots of mom in the hospital. the arm is a hairline fracture of the radius, the neck is from parathyroid surgery. obviously unrelated conditions. blood draw for calcium check: looking wistful: mmm, translucent pudding: "not as bad as i look": hope you guys enjoy the shots, it was fun shooting fully manual again, and the limited DOF of f/1.8 on a FF camera is great. just fyi...mom's doing fine, been home since the day after those pics, basically entirely back to normal aside from the splint and some stitches.
