Camera nikon D810

In the above I can't seem to find a setting where the prime slot uses a CF card shooting RAW only and the secondary slot SD card shoots Jpeg only

Overflow i understand

Backup is RAW and Jpeg

and Raw + primary does the same

Is there any other setting I am missing for the secondary slot

The Qual. button on to does allow RAW only or RAW + Jpeg but that is not the issue

Only I would like to shoot Raw as main and Jpeg as second or am I the odd one out as this would save card memory space

I think page 86 of the user manual explains it. The selection you are showing is the correct one. There is another menu setting to assign either the CF or SD to primary and secondary.

Sorry not what i want seems there is no way i can do what i want which is prime to Shoot RAW only and Secondary to shoot Jpeg only.


last * says saves Jpeg to both cards not what i want

YOU CAN. I did it often on my D810. Here is the step that you have NOT done in the SHOOTING menu:

got it sorted had to reset camera, seems the program memory had locked up on this issue. Thank you for all your trouble in you posts

Glad you got it worked out. This is my method I use, raw on slot one, jpg slot two.
