Currently have a Mid 2010 27" iMac and have just purchased a 13" MacBook Pro which will initially be used while traveling and workshops.
My question is about getting applications / programs from the iMac to the new MacBook. I understand that Migration Assistant to move things over but I don't believe I can choose which apps to move over and which not too. If I understand correctly it's a all or nothing as far as apps concerned.
Issue is that I have lots of old apps on the iMac. Some of which were rendered useless as I upgraded the OS (currently on Sierra). Others the actual program has been updated through the years.
For example I have Photoshop CS2, C4, C5, and CS6 as well as corresponding Adobe Bridge files, Adobe Device Central files, Adobe Extension Managers. Same for Lightroom. As I upgraded the old apps remained and a new app was created and save to the HD.
Some of the apps do have a associated Uninstall in the folder but others don't.
Will uninstalling the Photoshop apps CS4-CS5 with the uninstall feature do any damage to CS6 which I want to keep on the iMac and migrate over to the MacBook Pro.
For those apps that do not have a uninstall feature can I simply drag to trash without creating more problems.
Basically trying to clean up the iMac before migrating apps to the MacBook Pro.
Would it just be simpler to reinstall LR6 and CS6 on the MacBook Pro. What would be the best way to do that. Believe I could get the serial number and Key codes from Adobe as they were all registered.
I will be putting both Photoshop and Lightroom CC on the new mac, but would like to keep CS6 and LR6 just in case decide to leave the CC model.
Thanks,
John
