Quandary... I own The Beast (VR 200mm f/2G IF-ED) and it is a sensational lens... However, it is heavy and I've found that the keepers tend to come while stick mounted.. I've started shooting (indoor) national league basketball in professionally lit stadiums and I'm torn between the two lenses mentioned above. Any ideas or suggestions ?

#1 send your 200/2 to me
#2 I think you need to decide whether you need a. AF-S (Fast AF) and b. VR.
If you're shooting baseball, I don't think you need too fast of AF for pitchers/batters (maybe for outfielders). Also if they're indoor and brightly lit and you have shutter speeds fast enough to freeze action, you probably don't need VR.

    My 2 cents
