I had a less than excellent experience with an AGM battery, but it may be unique to driving an all-electric vehicle.

Mine died without warning after a little over two years. I had been driving my car fewer miles per week because COVID had me driving much less for work, but my car is supposed to keep the 12V battery charged regardless. One day I went to get in my car and found not only was the battery dead, but I also couldn't even open the car door to get in! It's supposed to give you a warning that it needs to be replaced but I never got that warning. It took me a while to get it sorted out but had a new battery later that day.

The good news is my car can now use a Lithium-ion battery as a 12V, so I'll be switching to that at some point.

So that's my only experience with AGM batteries for what it's worth.
