This is the very first red winged blackbird that I've seen this spring and I have no clue who he was showing off to...but definitely staking out his territory. Sorry for the motion blur in the left wing...this was 1/80th of a second and he was hopping around..)

Once again..very late day light, 15 minutes prior to sunset.

Boy he is just a hollarin for sure.

Shows the red on his wings very nicely. Good shot.
    I like it very much.

    Cheers

    Jim,

What was your ISO setting for this shot?

    Nice catch BTW.

ISO was 160...I know...I could have upped the ISO and had some more shutter speed.

I didn't feel like having any noise on this predominantly black bird however.

    Is this why you ask???

    Jim,

I ask because I'm wondering about noise in the X. Didn't see any here, so I was curious, since you said it was very late in the day. My Eagle pics from a week ago were shot at ISO 1100 to 1400, and had considerable noise in the dark areas.... :?

    Thanks,

    Frank
