One of our favourite places in NZL, about one hour out of Christchurch.
For those who may not know this, we understand it was originally a French settlement ......if I have got that wrong, I am sure a Kiwi will correct me.

Unfortunately when we were there, it was very misty and overcast, however that did not dampen our enthusiasm for the place.

    D80 with 18-135 mm Nikkor.

I went to Akaroa on my first trip to NZ.
I didn't take any photos there though, the weather was overcast.
  3. Yes, we struck it so too.
  4. Where are all the Kiwi's??

Thought this might provoke a bigger response, esp from our Kiwi cousins.
  5. I hope that someday I'll be able to go to New Zealand. Your shots really inspire me to go there someday. Thanks for sharing your travels with us.

    God Bless,

  8. Thanks for that, it's not hard in a place like this.
  9. Yes, Akaroa was settled by some French.
Thanks for making such a big noise about our place - I think it is rather wonderful too!!
Visitors welcome , especially photographers, let me know when you are planning a trip and I will be happy to offer some tips - like where to get the best kai and wine!!

  13. Enjoyed seeing these. My wife and I visited there twice in January, 2006. It's a beautiful area, and you did a nice job capturing it.

By the way, it was rainy when we were there, too. Seems to be normal!

Did you get to the French Farm Winery? Nice wine and great food!
