Here are some images illustrating transportation in Southern Alaska, in the summer. Those were taken during a recent fishing trip (see the story here)

Wow Phillipe, those images are stunning!!! So sharp and so full of detail; For example: The contrast that the lures make with the rest of the picture, I'm talking here about Uncle frank's last picture :) These pictures are even better than most pictures you will find in travel brochures. These are the images which make you go to Alaska.

Congrats

Thanks a bunch folks!

You can credit the 70-200 and the active VR mode for the boat pictures: I just set the lens to f/8 and pressed the shutter... and processed the raw image: that is the secret to getting the vibrant colors out, I think.

Gale and Gilles, thanks a bunch: you always have something nice to say. ;-) Frank, those 2 are my faves also! 8) :p Johan and Kevin, if these pics made you want to go to Alaska, I'm happy, but ... do it! You won't regret it.

Phillipe:

These are simply fantastic. You did justice to the beauty of Alaska. I like the feeling of tranquility in the scene of the fisherman on the boat with the mist rising from the trees in the background. The photo of the lone fisherman has the look of a painting. You captured the essence very well. Nice work!

My parents are going to take a cruise to AK at the end of August to celebrate their wedding anniversary and I hope they enjoy the sights as much as you did.
