I visited the Alhambra Palace in Grenada, southern Spain last week. An absolutely amazing place, built by the Moors from North Africa when they ruled this part of Spain for almost 800 years. Grenada was the last stronghold of the Moors in southern Spain, they were finally expelled from here in 1492 to complete the reconquest of Spain by the Christian rulers.

  2. great pics Mike, I was there about 8 years ago...was fascinated by it. Had dinner in a great restaurant on the hill behind it, out on the patio so we had a great view of the Alhambra. This was pre-good camera, so no pics :frown:

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone.
Frank, and anyone else thinking of visiting, make sure you allow a full day, this place is a complex of buildings and gardens. Also, book on the internet, they only allow a certain amount of people in per day. Make sure you get there at the time you booked, else you will not be allowed in. We nearly missed our slot!!

  12. love all the pictures but #2 IS MY FAVORITE!!!!
