What a wonderful series Alan !

If I may offer a friendly suggestion, forget the technical, forget the critical eyes. This is a camera to have fun with. For me, the beauty of it was for me to be able to be in the moment rather than outside of it taking a picture. I never once think of the camera and I love that freedom.

Rooz, a fine point! Exactly why i bought the Nikon 1 Aw1. I think what you are seeing is my exploration and first experiences of a mirrorless camera system. The AW1 being my only N1 body is so much more than just a beach camera for me. It has been a lot of fun for me exploring what I can do with it. You and other enthusiasts have probably explored and analyzed the mirrorless systems to death; it is all new to me. I was trying to share with others that may have purchased or considering purchasing the Nikon 1 AW1, that it can do much more for them than just be a beach or rough activity camera. Thanks for talking me into getting one of these cameras!

Great shots Alan! Your boys are a hoot. I haven't quite mastered the half above half under water shots yet!

Have given my AW1 a rest lately, but about time to give it a thorough inspection and cleaning for the beach for July 4th weekend! :)

The Methow river was too high to river raft so we hung out at the pool instead.

We're tent camping at the moment - and the camera goes to the beach daily - fun factor is huge - but darn I wish that LCD was better in the sun
Kids love using it too - making funny videos in the ocean. It is so much fun seeing peoples reaction when the kids runs in the ocean with the camera :D

Here's a couple

Great stuff Morten. Shows how far nikon has their head up their a$$ that they don't see this camera as a winner.
