The view of the Zermatt valley from our hotel at night was lovely. Unfortunately, I was travelling without a tripod! This was the best I could do hand held.

Wonderful, brings back memories. While living in Lausanne, spent Xmas week in 65 and 66 at the Hotel Post. Still one of my favorite areas to ski. May not get the dry powder of the Rockies, but sheer vastness, scenery, history and charm more than make up for it.

Im sure you had a wonderful time.

One of my favorite areas.
I've really become smitten with this region after hiking through two summers ago. It helps that we have a direct flight from Tampa to Zurich.

Yes, the skiing is much better here in the Rockies. The Swiss all wondered why we would travel there to ski! The overall experience is simply a great combination of good skiing, iconic scenery, vast mountain ranges and the wonderful alpine hospitality.

I love the shot and makes me want to stay there! I wish when I was there that the Matterhorn wasn't covered by a storm coming in.
