Am I seeing Things ?

    What flavor of Egret is this? Please don't say "Neopolitan" :biggrin:
    Been shootin them puppies awhile never seen one like this :confused:

    It's a juvenile Little Blue Heron.

    but don't think so
    I checked and Little Blues aren't in these parts normally (SoCal/Los Angeles area) and I believe 1st year Juvis are all White.

    First year juvies are all white until they become first srpring juvies and start the transition to their adult colors. Here's a local from a couple years ago.

  7. Nice Shot! Kind of reminds me of how Juvenile Bald Eagles look as they are going through the yearly transitions, varying amounts of white/brown/black as they mature.

    You got ya a rare treat to see somethin' there,, My Smithsonian Filed Guide shows the same bird in there ,, Little Blue heron Juvenile ,,,, I love it when strangers to my area pass thru,,,, great capture.....

    My wife wanted to know why I was so excited about seeing this
    birdie, she thought he looked like someone spilled paint all over him.
