I love bike racing photos, especially well done as these are. #2 is my favorite, but I think #2, #6 and #8 are definetly poster material. Don't get me wrong, they are all good...I just prefer those three, with #2 being my favorite of the favorites.
Thanks, all. Gear: D300, AF-S 300 f/4, AF-S 70-200 f/2.8, TC14E II. Manual exposures, Auto WB, Standard Picture Control, Dynamic Area AF.
WOW! Great captures, they all have me awe struck. I would love an opportunity to shoot bike racing, that looks like such a rush!
Whatever the minimum # is . . . 9? I'm not sure why I was even using it; Single Area works fine, better in some cases.
^ I am going to try going back to Single area focus myself. Not having as much luck with the multiple af while shooting auto racing. My D200 was easier to get sharper pics with the 200-400mm lense.
incredible images i'd remove #s 1 and 7... as they pale in comparison to the rest of your stellar work awesome shots thanks for sharing them with us
I like #1; it illustrates the closed-in nature of Mid-Ohio. Maybe it'd be better with more bikes in the frame. Next year . . . #7 would be better on a less hazy day with better light. I like the farm in the background. Thanks for your comments.
Awesome series, Tim! Are you shooting the Moto GP in Indy? I'm hoping to go on Friday to watch and shoot the practice sessions.
i meant you no disrespect i've raced motorcycles i've ridden 250,000 miles i've read every magazine and seen every image printed in the last 20 years i was just referring to what i'd see in a high-level magazine the rest of your images are fantastic..... that's all i meant
Thanks, Jim. I'll be there all weekend but I don't know yet if I'll have credentials for MotoGP. I do have access to the Indy Mile.
No worries, Greg. I wasn't feeling disrespected; I want people to comment. And I want to reach for images not seen repeatedly in the magazines.
