American Coot

Discussion in 'Birds' started by OHcorgis, Apr 3, 2007.

  1. Spent a beautiful warm day on the Towpath Trail, Cuyahoga Valley National Park in OHio. Just as I was leaving, this coot shows up and poses for me.

Maybe that's why they can swim without webs?

Nice pics, detail of the first one is very good!

  5. Thank you. It was difficult, had to focus through small trees and branches and hold the dog too LOL

Birds with Red Eyes are too cool. Nice images, if you give a coot:)

Very nice capture! What section of the Towpath Trail were you on? My mother loves to go for a run along the section in Independence, OH, which is only about 7 minutes from her house. Lots of wildlife can be seen along the trail, especially along many of the lesser-used sections (for obvious reasons).

  8. very nice! almost look like inflatable toes on that thing

  9. I live in Summit County. I was on the Ira Road section that has the Beaver Pond. The day I went was super warm which I believe resulted in so much wildlife basking in the sun. I have not been on the Towpath north of Rte 82, but will venture up when it gets warm - whenever that may be!

I have the Tamron 200-500 coming. I am hoping to try this out on a CVPS photowalk next Saturday at the Bath Road Great Blue Rookery.
