A couple from today. D850 and Sigma 500mm f4 sport hand held. The lighting was not ideal, a bit harsh.

yes they are, and real small.

Thank you, and yes they are, he has been scanning the marshlands for a few days that I was there, had him fly by me a few times, well today around 11 am, I was walking up a small hill, and as I came to the top, there he was perched on a small tree scanning for some lunch, I was about 5-10 yards from him, give or take, fired off a bunch of shots, he eventually took off, but not far, close enough for me to see him and him able to see me.

One of my favourite birds for the colours they sport. Mostly see them perched on wires so to me this is a nice find.
