Had a little wind storm overnight, and this morning we found this:

(A pretty sunrise in the background .... )

Obviously our fence was nearing the end of it's life span anyway ... but my neighbor and I were hoping for a bit more time to figure out the best solution.

Dang.

Looks like a great time for a project! Dive in and get 'er done by spring!
There is an upside. You've got plenty to do now. For a while at least :D
My backyard is a disaster this morning as well Ken. I'm going to have to get my chain saw out to even begin to clear the trees and branches that fell last night.
We had gusts to 60 mph, and sustained winds of 30 last night—just subsiding now. No damage as far as I can see.
The oak trees we have drop limbs all the time, but they tend to be small and don't generally do much actual damage. But, I think the insistent rain we've had, and the resultant super saturation of the ground, were the big contributors to the fall of the fence!! I've got a crew coming over as soon as they clear some roads nearby to sink some new posts and get it fixed for now.
