Andy Warhol Orchids

    I was harassing one of my mom's orchids this weekend and got his picture:

    Then I started playing around in LAB mode, and came up with some interesting combinations.(for those that don't know, LAB is a color space like RGB. L = Lightness, A = Magenta/Green, B = Blue/Yellow)

    First, just the L and A channels:

    Then the L and B channels:

    Then I replaced the B channel with the A:
    [​IMG]

    And replaced the A with the B channel:
    [​IMG]

    And last, I swapped the A and B channels:
    [​IMG]

    No particular point, I just thought it was fun. It kind of reminds me of an Andy Warhol painting.

    Oh yeah, what do you think of the original pic?

    Amusing effects. Some of them are very pretty but unreal.

    Thanks for the comments. I thought they were unusual looking.
    And the geek in me enjoyed trying to figure out why messing with the channels made them look the way they did.
