The Preamble:

Once upon a time a Great Blue heron sat in a tree watching the water below, for lunch. All of a sudden a rather large Crappie fish mistakenly swims near the surface. The Great Blue heron, like all good Great Blue herons, jumps from the tree and grabs the foolish Crappie. So far, what a day, everything is as fine as fresh fish on a sunny day. As the Great Blue heron (let's call him Crappie) begins to enjoy his lunch another Great Blue heron (let's call him The Thief) attempts to steal the fish from Crappie. Poor Crappie drops the fish and a battle ensues, other birds fly by and try to steal from poor Crappie. In the end,The Thief is the winner.

The morale of the story is eat fast(er):)

Randy this was pretty neat. A wonderful sequence made better by the slideshow. I will have to look into how to do that on Zenfolio. I have never tried posting a slide show before.

Nice series Randy! What part of the local government does the "thief" work for?

thx Bill

all birds seem to practice 'its better to steal fish than to fish':)

and the pecking order out there is, from the bottom, GWE,seagulls and then the GBHs, yes the GWEs are the wimps and the herons are bullies even with each other, squawking and fighting all day
