Would this be a female? I'm still learning about them and am wondering if this is just a young male who hasn't turned red yet or if it's a female. Do the females go around the water? Just wondering.

Lovely shot -- I love the pennants.

  6. The males have red stigmas. This one was far from water but I have seen them close to ponds as well. Actually the nearest open water that they prefer for breeding is miles away

  7. Nice one Glenn.

    What a beauty!

  9. Thanks all. I don't know why they are so rare compared to widows that prefer the same area
