Another set with the 200~400

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Jose Suro, Jul 10, 2007.

  1. Hi All,

Still learning this lens but I'm getting a little better with it - higher percentage of sharp shots. I tried it hand held on BIFs and it is superb for that. Way too heavy to do that all day long though!

Here are some owls and a dove.

    Thanks for looking!

    Best,

    Jose

    2) same settings but right at sunset. You can see the sunset and horizon in its eye .

  2. Beautiful shots, Jose. What kind of biceps do you have?!?! I know PJohnP has been known to hand hold his.

  3. Not only is your photography Outstanding, but your selection of subjects boggles the mind. You must live in a aviary.

  4. I say that not only are you doing alright, but excptional, I would (almost) kill for owlshots like the last one, it also proves that sunset or sunrise IS the Best!!!

    Bravo Jose!!!

    Gary,

No, he lives in Florida ---- Oh, wait, that IS an aviary.

Actually, Jose, lives in one of the greatest places to shoot in this side of the US, and my favorite, the Ft Desoto area. Every time that I've been there, the shooting has been awesome. OTOH, that doesn't take away from Jose's ability to get superb shots when the opportunity is presented.

  6. Bravo Jose! You just convince me that I need a 200-400mm. Now I have to work on my wife ... mind

Same owl, same post as Reggie.

  18. A great set Jose. The morning and sunset are excellent times that for sure and you've proven it. WEll done.

  19. Jose, I think something must be just a touch off in your lens, I think you should send it to me for testing....oh, wait, I already HAVE one :biggrin:

These are, as a Billy Crystal character used to say "Simply MAHVELOUSSSSS". I sure agree with you regarding hand-holding the lens, it works pretty well for a few shots, but you sure know it ain't a 70-200 AWFULLY quickly

I just love those burrowing owls ......
