Antarctica #10 - Penguins in the Falklands

Rockhopper Penguins were cute little guys that were very aptly named since they usually hopped instead of walking. They were nesting on New Island:

They looked really strange with the yellow stripes over the red eyes and the odd feathers sticking out of their foreheads:

They were the only penguins we saw with small chicks:

On Carcass Island we saw Magellanic Penguins. They nest in underground burrows and can suddenly pop up in front of you:

Out of all the penguins I have seen from you so far the rockhopper is my favorite!! :D :D :D
