Hi, Im still looking for wide angle lens for my D3.

I wish I can grap 14-24, but that's too much right now.

Anyway, I was going to buy Nikon 16-35vr, but I see that

Tokina has FX format WA, 16-28mm f2.8 lens.

Is there anyone using the Tokina lens? Are you happy with the lens?

I will be shooting portrait + landscape in and out side, and 16mm is

wide enough to me.

Would you prefer VR with f4, or without VR but f2.8?

Since I shoot portrait, f2.8 would be better choice?

but 16-28mm looks like as heavy as 14-24mm.

oh, I don't use filter other than just protect front glass.

Thanks.

I actually bought the 16-28 on a budget, or rather due a budget constraint, as I had on my mind the 35 1.4G which i got as well. I like natural light photography, and opted for the 2.8 rather than the F4 of the Nikon with VR. No regrets. But given the similarity in range, and that the Nikon would naturally be superior in many ways, perhaps the need to the lower F stop at a cheaper price should be the decisive factor.
